Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Program Lead serves as a subject matter expert on program curriculum for faculty.

The Program Lead communicates with all program specific faculty to ensure program objectives and outcomes are met.

The Program Lead must uphold the philosophy and mission of Santa Barbara Business College while instilling positive and progressive attitudes in all employees.

Essential Duties

• Create an environment that fosters trust, provides training and development for employees, supports ethical duties, and is motivational to employees.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for instructional staff regarding academic curriculum and technical information.

• Develop and implements student retention strategies.

• Ensure program objectives are consistent with catalog and course syllabi.

• Keep abreast of education and technical methodology advancements.

• Coordinate with Academic Dean to conduct instructor conferences and professional development sessions to provide technical assistance and advice on information affecting program objectives. Provides input for annual performance objectives and completes individual professional develop plans for program specific faculty.

• Participate in annual curriculum review meetings. Recommends new courses or presents course modifications.

• Collaborate with Academic Affairs management to implement new program curricula.

• Make recommendations for hiring potential instructors related to their programs.

• Orientate, coach, observe, evaluate, and advise instructors on improvements of instructional methods and techniques.

• Coordinate academic support programs, certification programs, and student professional associations at the school.

• Assist the Academic Dean to ensure appropriate learning resources are available on site.

• Work with the Admissions department to ensure growth of their respective program

• Work with the Career Services department to ensure the timely placement of the graduates of their respective program.

• Maintain teaching assignments as scheduled.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have five years (full time) paid employment as a Law Enforcement Officer (city, county, state or federal government)or as a Correctional Officer (county, state, or federal government).

Master’s degree (MA, MS, MBA) from four-year college or university required within the program field of expertise (Business, Management, Leadership, Accounting, Economics.

Two years related experience and/or training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five years experience in higher education (College or University)within Academics or Student Advising.

Work Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. (flexible as the needs of the department changes)
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
