Job Summary/Basic Function:

SBBCollege Santa Maria is currently recruiting for a Career Services Coordinator to join our campus team and be a part of a history of success since 1888.

The Career Services Coordinator is responsible to provide career guidance to students and graduates by developing and maintaining outstanding relationships with community employers. The Career Services Coordinator will track student skill efficiency in the workplace and ensure appropriate accreditation standards are met by delivering quality customer service.

Essential Duties

• Accountable for the overall success of the Career Service department including achieving graduate placement goals.
• Responsible for effectively planning, developing, implementing, and integrating all aspects of the job development and job placement of students.
• Develop and maintain systems for identifying employment opportunities including externship in the community.
• Maintain relationships with employers to promote career options through cold-calling, site visitations and informational mailings and/or emails.
• Represent the company and its students to the community, private and public agencies by networking and serving on boards, attending community events and professional group meetings.
• Solicit job leads and opportunities for graduates by phone, email and personal contacts with employers locally and nationwide.
• Develop and maintain the professional presentations to employers regarding hiring relationships as directed by company standards.
• Provide career coaching to students through classroom instruction, seminars, workshops, and one on one career development planning session.
• Provide career guidance to students and graduates in areas of résumé preparation, interviewing skills, job market information and job success practices.
• Assist graduates in securing employment in their field of studies. Provide assistance to enrolled students in obtain non-degree employment opportunities.
• Assist students and graduates with job searching by providing employment opportunity leads, faxing or scanning résumés to prospective employers, and coordinating job interviews.
• Coach, guide, and empower students to achieve optimum success.
• Oversee the up-to-date maintenance of the Career Services database, documentation, reports and student records in accordance with company policies.
• Track and report activities that measure department effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to interact in a pleasant and professional manner with all types of people. Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, set and meet deadlines and manage unexpected situations.

Strong ties to the community with a track record of successful business development and a proven ability to network. Knowledge of digital marketing tools highly desired.

Excellent public speaking ability with a passion for the art of moving people.

Creative entrepreneurial mindset with a strong belief in the power of Higher Education.

Work Hours:

Full-time; Monday-Friday
