Job Summary/Basic Function:

SBBCollege in Santa Maria is currently recruiting for a Criminal Justice Instructor to join our team and help be part of an exciting wave of momentum as we focus on continuing a tradition of success since 1888. Be a part of a team with a rich history in serving local students and the community at large.

Teaches a variety of law and criminal justice courses at both the associate and baccalaureate degree levels. Knowledge in criminal law and procedure, criminal investigation, criminology, law enforcement, corrections and probation, and security.

Essential Duties

Responsible to provide instruction to groups of students using available learning resources. Implements instructional strategies and motivates students to meet the objectives set forth in the course syllabus. Upholds the philosophy and mission of Santa Barbara Business College while instilling positive and progressive attitudes in all students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree with at least 4 years of professional experience in the area of law and/or criminal justice.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree. Teaching experience, leadership and/or management experience. Community contacts for possible externships and employment opportunities.

Work Hours:

Part-time, evenings, Monday-Thursday 5:45 – 10:20PM as needed.
